Profiles

The delaware center for the contemporary arts

The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, rebranded in December 2015 to The Delaware Contemporary, is Delaware’s only contemporary art museum. Founded in 1979, and formerly called the DCCA, it is a non-collecting museum focused on work by local and regional as well as national and international artists.

Contents

The Delaware Contemporary moved from the former waterworks building near downtown to the Christina riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware in 2000. In 2008, it ceased charging admission to view the galleries to offer families more affordable cultural choices during the recession.
