Career

After a loan spell at Železničar Smederevo, his return to Sartid coincided with the club's promotion to the national top division. Faced with competition from more experienced goalkeepers, he was forced to wait for a chance. In 2000, due to army obligations, he went to Leskovac and played for FK Dubočica. In 2001, in order to play more, Ranković moved to Slavija Sarajevo. When he returned to his home club in 2002, he was a replacement for national team player Dragan Žilić. However, after Žilić's departure from FK Smederevo in 2005, Ranković became the first choice goalkeeper. After 10 years at the club Rankovic signed for Serbian side FK Sloboda Užice.
