The tour proper started in Boulder, Colorado on January 16, 2009. They later embarked on a huge European arena tour. After completing the third leg of their US tour, the band toured Latin America, also visiting the United Arab Emirates and South Africa, which was the band's first visit to the African continent. The schedule tour of Asia in January 2010 was cancelled following the passing of Brandon Flowers mother, a number of dates in Oceania were also cancelled; the band did however play the final two shows, wrapping up the tour at the Good Vibrations Festival in Melbourne on February 21, 2010.
