History
Davidson Kempner was founded in May 1983 by Marvin H. Davidson and was initially named M.H. Davidson & Co. In December 1984, Thomas L. Kempner, Jr. joined the firm and was promoted to Partner in 1986. The firm opened to outside capital in 1987 and was registered as an investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1990. Thomas L. Kempner, Jr. was appointed to Executive Managing Member of the firm in January 2004.

Thomas L. Kempner, Jr., is Executive Managing Member of Davidson Kempner Capital Management. He joined Davidson Kempner in December 1984. Mr. Kempner became a Managing Member of Davidson Kempner Capital Management in January 1986 and was appointed Executive Managing Member in January 2004. Mr. Kempner graduated from the Harvard Business School in 1978, with distinction, and from Yale College in 1975, magna cum laude. Mr. Kempner is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Central Park Conservancy, a member of the Board of Trustees of Harlem Village Academies and a member of the Board of Directors of Harvard Management Company. Mr. Kempner also serves on the board of the USA Cycling Development Foundation, the investment committee of The St. Bernard's School in New York and the Columbia University Medical Center Board of Advisors.
Anthony A. Yoseloff is Deputy Executive Managing Member at Davidson Kempner Capital Management. He joined Davidson Kempner in August 1999 and became a Managing Member of Davidson Kempner in January 2004, Co-Deputy Executive Managing Member in January 2012 and the sole Deputy Executive Managing Member in January 2013. Mr. Yoseloff co-manages the firm’s distressed investments department. He received a J.D. from Columbia Law School and an M.B.A. from the Columbia Graduate School of Business Administration in 1999. He earned an A.B., cum laude, from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 1996. Mr. Yoseloff is on the Board of Directors of DonorsChoose.org, a not-for-profit organization, and also serves as the Chairman of its Audit Committee.
