David Yurdiga (born March 26, 1964) is a Canadian politician, who was elected to represent the riding of Fort McMurray-Athabasca in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2014 by-election. He now represents Fort McMurray-Cold Lake. He is a member of the Conservative Party of Canada.

MP David Yurdiga on the challenges that face an oilsands community
Personal background

Yurdiga studied power engineering at a technical school in Alberta. Beginning in the early 1990s, Yurdiga sold industrial chemicals and safety equipment out of Fort McMurray. He then branched out and created a consulting and property management business in Lac La Biche.

In 2007, Yurdiga was elected to Athabasca County’s council, representing Grassland. He was named deputy reeve in 2008, and then served as reeve from 2009 to 2013.
He is married, and has a son and daughter.
Electoral record
With the departure of Brian Jean in 2014, Yurdiga was selected to be the Conservative candidate in the by-election to represent Fort McMurray-Athabasca.
