Radio career

As a staff member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology community-service station WTBS/WMBR-Cambridge, he was an original member of the early punk rock radio show The Late Risers Club (LRC) from 1977 to 1979. The LRC is still currently on the air and was the subject of a 2004 documentary by filmmaker Marissa Acosta. He later became the host of the station's Friday Night Live program until leaving the station in 1980.

His first foray into commercial radio was on the FM station WBCN-Boston, from 1978 to 1983, where he also served as production director.

A 1983 move to the west coast led to a 15-year tenure at KOME-San Jose/San Francisco voted Rolling Stone Radio Station Of The Year in 1988 and 1990.

Subsequent stops included KLLC/Alice Radio-San Francisco and the San Jose stations KCNL/Channel 104.9, KUFX/KFOX and KSJO, where he served as the final program director before the station was switched to a Spanish music format by Clear Channel Communications in 2004.

In 2006, Dave opened RFW Media, a business consulting firm specializing in radio.

Most recently, David has moved RFW Media and RFW back to New England.
