David Ryan Just (born December 16, 1974) is an American behavioral economist at Cornell University.

Education
Just received his Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley, in 2001, after which he joined the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University.
Career
In 2010, jointly with Brian Wansink, he co-founded the Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics in Child Nutrition Programs (BEN), funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). As director of BEN, he was one of the creators of the Smarter Lunchroom Movement, which seeks to use simple and inexpensive environmental nudges in the school lunch environment to help encourage healthier school lunch decisions. The Smarter Lunchroom Approach has been promoted by the USDA, and has now been adopted by more than 10% of public schools in the US. He is the author or co-author of more than 110 publications, including “Introduction to Behavioral Economics.” He has received numerous awards for his research program.
