David M. Ewalt (born 1976) is an American journalist. He is currently deputy editor of special projects at Forbes. Prior to joining Forbes he worked at Newsday, InformationWeek and The Stony Brook Press.

Ewalt, along with his current position as senior editor at Forbes, writes a blog titled "Spacewar!" and also co-authors the annual Fictional 15. In 2008, he wrote the article for Forbes in which he ranked America's Best Colleges and the following year created the annual list of The World's Most Powerful People. In 2002, he won a gold medal in the American Society of Business Publication Editors National Editorial Awards, and in 2004, a bronze medal. In August 2013, Ewalt's first book was published, Of Dice and Men: The Story of Dungeons & Dragons and the People Who Play It. Ewalt currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
