David Anthony Harris (born 1 November 1937) is a Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom.

Political career

Harris first stood for Parliament at Mitcham and Morden in February 1974, but he was beaten by Labour's Bruce Douglas-Mann.

He was Member of Parliament for St Ives from 1983 until he retired in 1997, and also Member of the European Parliament for Cornwall and Plymouth from 1979 to 1984. Until 2010, there had been no Conservative MPs in Cornwall since the 1997 general election, when Harris retired and Sebastian Coe lost his seat.

Later life

Harris now lives in Perranwell Station about 6 miles west of Truro in Cornwall.
