David Harney (born 2 March 1947 in Jarrow, England) is an English former professional football forward who played in the Football League for Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United and Brentford.

Career
Harney joined Division Four side Brentford on trial in October 1969, but made just one first team appearance, as a late substitute in a 1–0 victory over Notts County. He appeared in a London Challenge Cup tie for the reserve team against Tottenham Hotspur and also in a friendly versus Millwall, in which he scored, but was not offered a contract.
