David Grennan (born in Dublin) is an amateur astronomer from Raheny, Dublin. In 2010, Grennan became the first person in Ireland to discover a supernova.

Discoveries
On 18 April 2014, which incidentally was Good Friday, Dave made his third discovery. The explosion happened 170m years ago, but the light is only reaching our planet now. The supernova which was found in 2014 has been named, Supernova 2014as.
