David Bullock (born June 15, 1993), also known by the nickname Alaska, is an American publicist and tastemaker. By the age of 20 he revolutionized utilizing social media clout to influence pop culture. In 2014 he was recognized at #81 on the list of the Top 100 Most Influential Black People on Digital/ Social Media. Working with companies such as: Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, Allied Integrated Marketing, The Board Administration and Revolt TV, he quickly became a tastemaker with a high impact on the Millennial demographic. In 2016 he traversed North America while working on the Saint Pablo Tour.

Early life

David is the youngest of 7 children. He attended South Anchorage High School as an All Conference basketball player before following his older brother Wesley's footsteps and enrolling at Howard University in Washington, DC. David's impact was profoundly felt on the DC nightlife scene when he began throwing parties at his university. The majority of his events trended on the social network, Twitter, with the most impactful social media campaign being behind "Project HU", a 2012 party that trended worldwide. For his first Homecoming events, he teamed with Atlanta promoter Alex Gidewon to bring out hip hop heavy weights Sean Combs and TI. In 2013 his Homecoming affair hosted Trey Songz, Floyd Mayweather, Rocko, Yandy Smith and Young Jeezy all under one roof.

Career

Bullock has been known to use his digital prowess to manage the social media pages of some of his celebrity clientele. His first experience in public relations came by way of Washington, DC based marketing firm, The Board Administration in 2012. David parlayed that experience into working with Warner Music Group, Revolt TV, Atlantic Records, Allied Integrated Marketing and more, all while juggling a number of independent clients. Some of his most notable clients include Young Guru, Jay-Z's music engineer and Grammy Award- winning singer/ songwriter, The World Famous Tony Williams. In March 2015, David collaborated with The World Famous Tony Williams to coordinate the "Some of My Best Rappers Are Friends music showcase at the SXSW Music Festival. In early 2016, Bullock founded a PR Firm, Iconic Perceptions, to aggregate the services that he was rendering to his growing clientele. In August 2016, David's work afforded him the opportunity to traverse North America on the Saint Pablo Tour. While on the Saint Pablo Tour, a number of his videos from the concerts which chronicled the 2016 differences between Kid Cudi and Kanye West were posted to social media where they went viral and were syndicated by most major news outlets.

Television

David made his national television debut on the premiere episode of Time's Up! which aired on Music Television in 2014. He also appeared in two episodes of the third season of Thicker Than Water on Bravo TV Network. Alaska was also spotted on Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E! in 2016 when the show chronicled Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 Fashion Show/ The Life Of Pablo listening party in Madison Square Garden.
