David B. Sandalow has served in senior positions at the White House, State Department and U.S. Department of Energy. He is currently the Inaugural Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy and co-Director of the Energy and Environment Concentration at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.

From Spring 2009 to Spring 2013, Sandalow served in positions at the United States Department of Energy, including Under Secretary of Energy and Assistant Secretary for Policy & International Affairs
Prior to his appointment at the U.S. Department of Energy, he was a Senior Fellow, Foreign Policy Studies, and Energy and Environment Scholar at the Brookings Institution. He also chaired the Energy & Climate Change Working Group at the Clinton Global Initiative.
He was Executive Vice President at the World Wildlife Fund from 2001 to 2003.
