History

The school was established when a small school in Shiekh Maltoon Town, Mardan was converted to become the Darussalam Academy, Mardan Branch, in June 2009.

The name of the school has been taken from the Quranic word 'Darussalam' translated as 'Home of Peace' and carries the meaning of 'True Deen', 'The Straight Path' or 'Jannat'.

The administration of Darussalam Academy planned to start a separate 'Girls Section' in April 2011, a 'Pre-School' in April 2012 and a 'Junior Section' in April 2013, with the existing building continuing to operate as the High School.
