Darren Corstens (born 8 October 1990) is an Australian ice hockey player currently playing for the Adelaide Adrenaline in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Playing career

Corstens first played for the Adelaide Adrenaline of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) in 2010. As well as playing for the Adrenaline Corstens also signed with both the Adelaide Falcons of the South Australian A Grade and the Adelaide Ravens of the South Australian B Grade for the 2010 season. During his first season in the AIHL Corstens played in 22 games and recorded eight points, while in the A Grade league he competed in 12 games and scored 41 points. The following year Corstens left the Ravens but continued to play for both the Adrenaline and the Falcons. After the end of the 2011 season, Corstens moved to Finland and signed with Viikingit of 2. Divisioona. Playing in 24 games for the season Corstens scored 22 points which included eight goals and fourteen assists. Following the season's end with Viikingit Corstens returned to Adelaide and rejoined the Adrenaline for the 2012 AIHL season but did not re-sign with the Falcons.

Corstens was first selected to represent Australia in 2013 where he joined the national senior team to compete in the 2013 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament being held in Zagreb, Croatia. Australia finished fourth while Corstens finished the tournament with seven points in five games.

Personal life

Corstens was born on 8 October 1990 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Corstens previously played inline hockey before moving across to ice hockey at the age of twelve.
