Biography

Darrel Treece-Birch started playing keyboards from an early age. Inspired by the early electronica music of Oxygene and Equinox of Jean-Michel Jarre and the ambient orchestration of Vangelis, he soon got involved in various bands, with the most notable one being the Fleetwood-based Purple on the Storm. He started the band Nth Ascension in 1990 and after various lineup changes, released their first studio album 2011, entitled Frequencies of Day & Night, which was issued as a free download via Aurovine. Soon after, Darrel Treece-Birch joined the melodic Hard Rock Band Ten, with whom he has released 3 studio albums so far, 2012's Heresy and Creed, 2014's Albion and 2015'sIsla De Muerta. The second studio album by Nth Ascension entitled Ascension of Kings, was released in late 2014 via Sonic Vista Music to much critical acclaim. Darrel Treece-Birch released his fifth solo studio album entitled No More Time on 19 August 2016, via Melodic Revolution Records, while in October of the same year, his band Nth Ascension released their third studio album entitled In Fine Initium. Gothica, the 13th studio album of Ten and the fifth to feature Darrel Treece-Birch on keyboards, will be released on the 7th of July via Frontiers Records.
