Daporijo is a census town in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.It is the land of Tagin Tribe.It is the headquarter of Upper Subansiri district. Daporijo is located at an elevation of 600 m above sea level. It is located beside the river Subansiri, one of the principal rivers of Arunachal Pradesh and a major tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra. It is a very beautiful place surrounded by greenery mountains.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Daporijo had a population of 15,468. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Daporijo has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66% and, female literacy is 51%. In Daporijo, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Daporijo is headquarters of Upper Subansiri District, which is home land of three ethnic groups, the Tagin, Galo and Nyishi tribes. Dikto Yekar is the MLA of Daporijo constituency, (as on August-2016) and the Deputy Commissioner is Komkar Dulom. Taluk Gusar is the SP(Superintendent of Police) of Daporijo town.Daporijo is having amazing beauty snapshot with the view point of Subansiri river,there is also two medium size river build island which make much beauty and attractive. our local festival si-donyi make much attractive tourister. during this festival we show lot of cultural activities and customs.
