Danni Chong (Chinese Simplified: 种丹妮, Pinyin: Chong Dan Ni), born on September 11, 1989, is an up-and-coming Chinese actress based in Beijing, China. She is currently managed by Beijing Guoli Changsheng Entertainment Group (北京国立常升影视文化传播有限公司).

Early life and education

Danni Chong was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. To pursue a singing career, she moved to Beijing and attended China Conservatory of Music Affiliated High School (中国音乐学院附中) at age 15. After high school however, realizing her true passion is acting rather than singing folk music, she secretly and successfully applied to Beijing Film Academy (北京电影学院) against the wishes of her mother, who hoped Danni to attend China Conservatory of Music (中国音乐学院). After completing her undergraduate studies at Beijing Film Academy in 2012, Danni is currently pursuing a master's degree from Beijing Film Academy on a full scholarship while also participating in many acting and singing projects.

Acting career

During Danni second year at Beijing Film Academy, she was offered a major role in the television series Foster Father, produced by and co-starring Chinese entertainment mogul Zhang Guoli (张国立). The series was a rating success in 2011. Danni's performance in the series also garnered her wide critical acclaim, including a 2011 Sohu Best New Actress in Television nomination (搜狐2011电视剧春季盛典最佳女新人奖). Impressed by her potential as an actress, Zhang Guoli subsequently signed her to his talent agency.

As of 2013, Danni's other television and film credits include: Just like Xiaoduo, Two Happy Families, Ye Luo Changan and films Civilian King and Leifeng.
