He graduated from Iona College with a B.A., from Harvard University with a M.T.S., from Warren Wilson College with an M.F.A., and from University of Virginia with a Ph.D. He teaches at Emerson College.

His work has appeared in the "New Republic," "The Nation," and the "Harvard Review."
