Daniel Spivak (born 9 August 1988) is an Israeli-Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

Playing career

Spivak played college ice hockey for the Rochester Institute of Technology, which plays in Atlantic Hockey, part of the NCAA's Division I. Born in Netanya, Israel, he also played for the Israel national ice hockey team in the 2009 IIHF World Championship Division II and played in the Israeli men's hockey league throughout his four seasons for the Stouffville Spirit of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. He enrolling at RIT as a Business/Finance major, before turning professional with the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

After a season in the Central Hockey League with the Fort Worth Brahmas in Fort Worth, Texas, Spivak joined the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. On July 29, 2014, Spivak opted to return for a second season within the Gladiators.

Personal life

Spivak, who is Jewish, lives in Thornhill, Ontario; his parents are Zeev and Rakela Spivak, and he has four brothers. He attended Thornhill Secondary School.
