Daniel Kahn & The Painted Bird is a klezmer band founded by the US singer from Detroit, songwriter and actor Daniel Kahn. The band was founded in 2005 and is based in Berlin. In the past years there were four releases at Berlin world music label Oriente Musik.

Daniel Kahn was born on September 11th, 1978, in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan taking Theater, Playwriting, Poetry and Politics.
