Career
Daniel B. Anton was a soldier for 10 years, holding a variety of command and staff positions and rising to the rank of Major.
Training
Daniel B. Anton received a commission as an Army second lieutenant. After attending basic training at Fort Benning, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division in Columbus, Georgia, as a platoon leader.
Operation Iraqi Freedom III
1LT Anton served his first tour as an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader from January 2005 ? January 2006 in Baqubah, Iraq. While on patrol during his first mission his convoy was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which fatally killed his platoon sergeant, SFC David J. Salie., and severely wounded 2 others The experience set the tone for the entire deployment. The encounter is described in the book, "The Gods of Diyala".
He returned to Iraq as a captain in 2007, serving in the 1st Infantry Division under the Military Transition Team (MiTT) initiative. He served as operations advisor to a National Police Battalion in Baghdad. During one of his unit?s combat patrols Captain Anton severely injured his lower back resulting in 3 herniated discs. He would spend the next 2 years rehabilitating his back until ultimately being medically retired.
Entrepreneurship
In 2011 he founded "Anton Brothers Marketing" with his brother and business partner, Matt Anton. Daniel B. Anton co-authored "The Rockstars of JVZoo". He also wrote many published articles during his time in the Army.
