Damon Thayer (born September 16, 1967) is an American Republican politician. He is the Majority Leader of the Kentucky State Senate, being first elected by the 17th District in 2003. Thayer was raised in Grayling, MI. He attended Michigan State University. His father, Daniel, an avid outdoorsman and a second amendment advocate, is also a successful entrepreneur. Thayer frequently vacations to Michigan where his sister and father still live.
He has appeared on Comedy Central's The Daily Show.
