Dals Långed (meaning "passage between or along the water") is a locality situated in Bengtsfors Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 1,520 inhabitants in 2010.

History
In långed was founded in the 1850s. Later, a mill was built, however, in connection with a pulp mill, it was started by a subsidiary Baldersnäs . Initiator was the future Minister of Finance Carl Fredrik Wærn. Långed factory in finished condition was one of Sweden's largest. A subsequent recession decreased the provision of paper pulp, and the managing director Alexander Hall Ings advice founded in 1884 Dalsland's first paper mill. Need for pulp however, soon came to exceed groundwood could perform, and a sulphite mill was started in 1888. The sulphite mill burned down in 1902 and that the plant's capacity was then considered too low and production was high there was first no reconstruction. When the company dissolved Baldersnäs 1897 Långeds independent company. Sulphite mill was rebuilt in 1906, but production ceased after a few years. To take advantage of the availability of hydroelectric 1909-10 built a hydroelectric plant in långed. 1918 was formed AB Billingsfors-Långed by merging with Billingfors use , and Göteborgs bank received a majority shareholding. Depression in the early 1930s meant hardship for the mill, which was forced to shift production from newsprint to glossy paper of oliak kind, magazine, concept paper and the like. [ 2 ]
During World War II, when there was a shortage of plates, began to produce various forms of packaging paper to replace metal cans. Later paper cups an important product. A new bleach plant was built in 1943. [ 2 ]
A contributing factor was blossoming Dalsland canal which in the 1860s was drawn by långed, and slusstation built here. Dalslands Kanal AB also had its office here. [ 3 ]

There are two small supermarkets, a physiotherapist, dentist, café, library, art gallery.
Dals Långed has a rich cultural life which can mainly be explained by the arts programs offered in the resort. These are Steneby - School of Craft and Design related Gothenburg University and Steneby Foundation - A preparatory arts education.
Famous people
Pelle and Erik Gustafsson, known from the band Nifelheim and as "brothers hard rock" comes from the Dals Långed. [ 6 ]
