Dale Guy Madison is a writer, actor, filmmaker and former host for the QVC network. He received his first performer screen film credit in the original 1988 John Waters movie Hairspray and has appeared on NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Streets as well as Showtime's Barbershop: The Series. Dale also worked in front of the camera as a commercial model and behind the camera as a costume designer.

Host
Dale was selected as a Fashion Channel host for the QVC network in 1991 and worked with numerous celebrities during a 4 year run. He was first placed on the main channel following host Mike Rowe (Discovery Channel Dirty Jobs) before transferring to the Fashion Channel. He created and produced the successful African Marketplace shows, as well as Destination: Africa. In the program, he sold his own line of hand-made African inspired dolls. These live 2-hour events attracted many more African American viewers to the shopping channel markets.
Actor and producer
Dale received two grants from the Maryland State Arts Council (1996 & 1997) for his one man show, FREEda Slave: Mask of a Diva, which addressed issues of cross dressing and intra-discrimination within the gay community. It debuted in Los Angeles at the Hudson Backstage Theater in 2000 and was selected as Backstage West/Dramalouge “Pick of the Week.” His documentary, "DREAMBOY: My Life as a QVC Host and Other Greatest Hits" won best LGBT award at the 2008 San Diego Black Film Festival. He co-produced a short film based on one of his poems, “The Panty Man” which screened at the 2009 Pan-African Film Festival, 2009 Show Off Your Shorts Festival, The 15th Annual Black Harvest International Film Festival and The 2009 Africa in the Picture Film Festival.
Writer
Dale self-published his memoir, DREAMBOY: My Life as a QVC Host & Other Greatest Hits, in 2009. A s a spoken word poet, Dale hosted Soulful Salon’s Third Thursday open mic night at Jewel’s Catch One 2006-2007, and is a regular contributor to the on line magazine Monthly BREEZE. His poetry can be found on Two Hawks Quarterly a publication of Antioch University. A 2006 Zami/Audre Lorde Scholar, Dale received his BA in 2009 from Antioch University.
