The Dajabón River (also called Massacre River) is a river of the Dominican Republic. It forms the northernmost part of the international border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Map of Rio Masacre

The river was named "Massacre River" following an event in 1728, where Spanish settlers killed thirty French buccaneers. Its name gained renewed attention as the location of numerous killings during the Parsley Massacre. However, contrary to common belief, this tragic event was not the origin of its name.
