Dai Tielang is a Chinese artist, his ancestral home is Huiyang, Guangdong. He born in Singapore in 1930, and went back to China in 1940. After graduated from Beijing Film Academy in 1953, he worked in cartoon films department of Shanghai Film Studio. In 1957, he entered the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, and worked as an art designer for more than 30 cartoon films.

Prize-winning Works

His work "Little Tadpoles Look For Their Mother (1960)" won the Golden Sail Prize in the 14th Locarno Film Festival in 1961, Honor Prize in the 17th Cannes Film Festival in France, the first prize in the 3rd Zagreb Animation Film Festival.

The ink and wash work "The Cowherd's Flute(1963)" won the Sliver Prize in the Odense Animation Film Festival.

“Little Dolphin, My friend” won the Sliver Prize in the Youth Festival in Italy.
