School Symbols
The Cross and the olive trees mean that this is a school of children who are filled with the love of Jesus. The shield symbolizes growing a guard of justice. The Ginkgo tree overcomes cold in winter, has greenness in summer and changes to yellow in fall, showing off a dignified appearance. Likewise, Dae-Gwang elementary school's students will grow like the ginkgo tree. The rose symbolizes the love of Jesus Christ, implying that Dae-Gwang Elementary School's students will receive Jesus Christ's love. The school motto, '敬天愛人(경천애인)' means 'respects the sky and loves people'.

The school was founded by Rev. Han Kyung-jik, Lee Chang-ro, and Lee Chul-jin.
