OlaDotun Ojuolape Kayode (born April 8, 1984) popularly known as DO2dTUN (pronounced D-O-to-the-T-U-N) is a Nigerian-based media mogul, on-air personality, disk jockey, video jockey, voice-over artist, sound engineer, hype-man, voice coach and entertainment entrepreneur. He started out his sojourn in the entertainment industry when he as an undergraduate student of the Lagos State University pioneered a dance group called Xtreme Dancers. The group later became defunct and then he joined popular choreographer Nonso (known as Flexxx) on a dance group called IGNITE. He pursued a career in broadcasting in 2004 when he joined Cool FM where he served as an intern for about five years before he began to host radio shows. He has received numerous awards, including Broadcaster of the Year at the Dynamix All Youth Awards (2011), Young Radio Presenter of the Year at the 2012 Nigeria Broadcasters Merit Award, Radio Personality of the Year at The Society Awards (2011), On Air Personality of the Year at the 2015 City People Awards, and On Air Personality of the Year at the 2015 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated as the Broadcaster of the year at the 2011 and 2012 editions of The Future Awards.

Early life

Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode was born in Lagos on 8 April 1984 to a Building Engineer Father and a Nurse Mother. He is the first child of a nuclear family of three children. He attended Kemeesther Nursery and Primary school in Surulere, Lagos and proceeded to the renowned Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State. He then proceeded to the Lagos State University where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication (with specialty in Advertising and Public Relations). He grew up an always happy kid who plays football on the streets of Surulere and was at one point in his life tagged "The family's black sheep". Dotun grew up loving music and he listened to radio programs a lot. His father would always give him a transistor radio at every of his birthday anniversaries and so he listened to a lot of ace media personalities including; Steve Kadiri, Tope Brown, Olisa Aduba, Dan Forster among others. His enthusiasm and natural drive to succeed made him set up a now defunct dance group, Xtreme and his dancing sojourn earned him appearance in musical videos including; D'banj's Why Me and DJ Zeez's Same Ni while in the University. DO2dTUN's rise to fame is such of a "started from the bottom" story. His dexterous human relational skill and display of wit and spontaneity stood him out among his peers and earned him recommendation for internship at radio station, Cool FM by his lecturer, Mr. May Nzeribe and it was on this foundation his broadcasting career was built.

DO2dTUN is a multi-tasking entrepreneur, hence he joggles through so many roles he ascribes his passion.

Dancer/Choreographer

Oladotun has an innate affinity for dance and he did that a whole lot as a kid, his love for legendary Michael Jackson's and Soul Brothers' James Brown's moves fueled the passion and had him take it much more seriously, and while in the university, he instituted a dance group he called Xtreme, they rocked different events on and off the university campus, shuttering between pursuit of passion and academic excellence. He became popular on campus as a result. Shortly after school he joined (now P-Square's official choreographer), Nonso Asobe's (a.k.a. Don Flexxx) dance group Ignite and performed in many events. Then in 2006 he featured on popular African act, D'banj's smashing hit, Why Me video as a dancer and on DJ Zeez's, Same Ni video. His dancing career was steady-rising towards peak when busy radio schedules among other activities choked out the time he made out for professional dancing.

Broadcaster

Broadcasting began for DO2dTUN when his wit and spontaneity impressed his lecturer, Mr. Nzeribe who felt that Dotun would be good for the radio and offered him three options of choice broadcasting stations including Raypower, Rhythm FM and Cool FM. He chose Cool FM of the three. After over three years of internship, Dotun earned a chance to host a night show on radio themed Sleep Talk, where he engaged late night radio listeners and shared with the depressed their worries. The show turned out to be his break away in the broadcasting industry. The once upon a time "studio rat" as was being mocked has ever since gone on to host quite a number of radio shows including; Chevrolet Football Fan Show, The Sunday Afternoon Show, Love Zone, Heineken's Top 20, Midday Oasis Show, Friday Nite PartyMix among others. He also hosts Soundcity TV's Greatest Countdown on Earth Radio Show.

Cool FM

Sleep Talk

Sleep Talk was DO2dTUN's first show as radio host when he got the opportunity in 2007 after the exit of the show's former host. The show has a duration of 5 hours in the depth of the night from the hours of 1:00 to 6:00 am (local time) from Sunday to Thursday, every week. In the cool night when the depressed find the best of reflections of their worries, it offered them a platform to share their worries and get advice. The show was anchored by Dotun for about 3 years. This is the biggest show element for the overnight belt. Relationship talks and issues every individual faces on a daily basis are discussed. At some point on the Show, listeners are given the opportunity to share their problems.

Chevrolet Football Fan Time

This show availed football fans the avenue to represent their football clubs and talk about football. It was sponsored by giant American automobile firm of the American manufacturers, General Motors, Chevrolet. It held between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm (local time) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it engaged the football fans via phone calls.

The Sunday Afternoon Show

After leaving the overnight lounge in 2010, Dotun hosted The Sunday Afternoon Show which held between 1:00 and 7:00 pm (Nigerian time). The show had such game as The Birthday Millennium Challenge among other programs targeted at raising the ecstasy of young and happy listening audience. Dotun hosted this program for about a year.

Love Zone

Dotun hosted the program, Love Zone at a point in time. On the program, relationship talks and issues every individual face on a daily basis were discussed. At some point on the show, listeners are given the opportunity to discuss their life issues. While Dotun hosted the live show on radio, the program held between 9pm and 1am (local time).

Shape Your City by Heineken

Lager Beer company Heineken, sponsored a show on Cool FM 96.9, Lagos and Do2dtun hosted it live on radio for about a year, in 2015. The show engaged its audience on discuss about fun places in the cities around the world, and how they shape the individual.

Cool Best 20

Cool Best 20 airs weekly between 7 pm and 8:30 pm (Nigerian Time) every Sunday. It is a chart show that features the 20 most rated songs around the globe, Dotun hosted the show on Cool FM at a point in time. In collaboration with Radio Express, DO2dTUN compiled charts for the late Tom Rounds led firm, who had the Nigeria's Rick Dee's Franchise.

Midday Oasis Show

Midday Oasis show is a versatile show that engages its audience focusing on all the facets of Nigerian Life with a little bit of something for everyone. It is structured to appeal to people across all age groups; young or old. It is jointly hosted by DO2dTUN and Taymi every weekday between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm (Nigerian Time). They have both being hosting the show since year 2011 till present. Some elements of the show are Entertainment Gist, Celebrities' interview and giveaways with focus on phone calls and social media and of course music. The Midday Oasis Show has elements including; The Cool Nigerian Vibes, Begi Begi Tuesday, Superstar Wednesday, The Morning before the dark, and so on. A lot of international acts including, Wizkid, Lynn Whitfield, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Maino, Yemi Alade, Patoranking, D'Banj, 2Face, Ron Browz, Olamide, Tichina Arnold, Pepenazi, MIMs, Seyi Shay, Lil Kesh, Banky W, MI Abaga, Chiddy bang, Chris Aire, among others have been interviewed on the show.

Friday Party Club Mix Show

DO2dTUN partners with DJ Xclusive to make every Friday very groovy as they combine to dish radio listeners with dozens of club hits and trendy music. The show which is aired between the hours of 8:00 pm and 12 midnight (Local time), helped Dotun discover his skill as a hypeman, a craft he has since taken professionally. The show has hosted some of the longest rap freestyles on Radio by individual rap artistes. one of which had sensational Nigerian rap act, Vector who was hosted on the show in September, 2014 alongside the duo of DO2dTUN and DJ Xclusive for a one-hour plus freestyle live on radio. Chinko Ekun is another Nigerian act that did over one hour live freestyle on radio on the show besides Vector. The program which is aired live between has been consistent for up to 4 consistent years and is still on. It has featured renowned British Disk Jockey and Television host, Tim Westwood

Curious Case with Martell

The program was aired on radio on 30 September 2016. It is a Martell Cognac Nigeria sponsored radio show that discusses quite bluntly, issues about the entertainment industry in Nigeria with discussion being made from an insider's perspective the show is hosted on Cool FM, Lagos by Dotun alongside Ayo Rotimi and Chief Executive Officer of MyStreetz media, Sesan Adeniji.

The Greatest Count Down on Earth Radio Show

The greatest countdown on earth radio show is a television broadcast that features the top 10 countdown on the world music chart. Broadcast is on both Terrestrial and cable television stations. It commenced in February, 2014 and has since inception been hosted by DO2dTUN. The Greatest Count Down on Earth Radio Show is a One-hour magazine and chart show for videos from around the globe that would feature an exciting mix of must-know news, interviews popular artistes, exclusive video performances and world class clips from around the world every week. The program is recorded in audio studios, and the chart is usually run through by the very engaging host, Dotun.

Voice Over Artist

As a voice over Artiste, Oladotun's clients' roll is such a long one as his unique voice gets him on a lot of skits, advertisements and even Album tracks. Among the most prominent include; being the official Voice of Over Artiste of the MTN West Africa Project Fame, Skits in award-winning Musical Albums such as Skales' Man of the Year, Olamide's Baddest Guy Ever Liveth and other singles including, DJ Jimmy Jatt's Industry Volume 1 intro. He has done lot more works for so many advertising firms and agencies.

Hype Man

In one of his articles, Ehis Combs Ohunyon of music.partyjollof.com rates Do2dtun as one of Nigeria's top three artists Hypemen. Chinedu Ogwo of Austinnaija.com writes of his unriviled energy level as a hypeman; he also wrote of his enthusiasm and love for his job. In another austinnaija.com article, his hypeman artistry was given lots of credit with particular emphasy on his synergy with artists he partners with on stage; especially Nigerian musical act, Olamide, making reference to the duo's performance at the second edition of Olamide Live in Concert, OLIC2, held in Lagos, Nigeria. In September 2015, he hosted ace Disk Jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt's concert, The Festival. April, 2015, he performed at a live Easter concert in Maryland, USA; where he performed alongside, Olamide

Corporate Events Compere, Parties Anchor and Outdoor Concerts Host

As a corporate events compere, Dotun has a long list of clienteles. He has anchored the following events; Guinness Snapp launch in PH & Abuja, Hennessy artistry, Barcardi pool party in 3 locations, valentine party by Top tea, high impact concert; classic DJ concert, Battle of the dance show powered by power horse, In 2015 alone, Dotun hosted some top notch corporate gigs; anchoring End of the year parties for various institution including; Access Bank, Bank of Industry, General Electric among others

Dotun hosted the 2014 and 2015 editions of Star Music Trek. The 2015 edition was held in different cities across Nigeria, with average attendance at each venue rated at 20,000. The cities include; Awka, Calabar, Sapele, Nsukka, Makurdi, Benin, Ibadan, Lagos. The 2015 Copa Lagos concert just ;llike the 2014 edition was hosted by DO2dTUN. The 2015 edition of YBNL UK Concert was hosted by Dotun. Dotun hosted the November, 2015 edition of Sprite Tripplr Slam. In 2015 also, Dotun co-hosted the Lagos Islanders' Homecoming Basketball cum entertainment game alongside Jimmie. Etisalat's 2015 Cloud 9 Music Concert was also hosted by DO2dTUN. 2015 PhynoFest was co-hosted by Dotun and Maria Okan. In October, 2016 alone, DO2dTUN hosted quite a number of big gigs, prominent among them include; YBNL 2.0 Concert, London, Coke Studio Season 4 Launch Party in Lagos and 3 Thrones.

The 2014 Soundcity Urban Blast Festival was hosted by Dotun and a successful outing earned him a recall the following year as he again hosted the 2015 edition of the annual musical concert. His showing in 2015 was described by Nairaland's editor, Obiremy, as an amazing job.

Ecleftic Entertainment

DO2dTUN is the Chief Executive Officer of record label, Eclectic Entertainment, which has on its signers' roll, fast rising act, Pepenazi. His affiliation with the marque has however been kept off the public for a long while until it was eventually leaked during a tweeter chat anchored by @cutekimani

Family

Dotun hails from Odigbo in Ondo State. He is the first born and has two siblings, one of who is a Nigerian Musical act, Pepenazi. He is born to a Building Engineering father and his mother is a nurse. Dotun got married to the younger sister of popular Nigerian musical acts, D'banj and twin sister of K Switch, Taye in a pronounced celebrity wedding on 27 July 2013. Dotun and Taiwo are proud parents of their daughter, Fifemayo. His family life has so far been successfully kept out of the public, and he ascribes this to the fact that he predetermines what information about his family is let out to the media.
