Cyprus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with "Why Angels Cry" performed by Annet Artani. The song placed 15th in the semi-final with 57 points and therefore did not qualify for the final.

A Song for Europe

A Song for Europe, the Cypriot national final, consisted of two semi-finals held on February 11 and February 12, 2006 with a final held on February 22, 2006. Each semi-final had ten contestants, five of which were selected by regional televoting to continue to the final. At the final, held in CyBC studios and hosted by Alex Michael & Christina Marouchou, the winning contestant was once again chosen by televoting. Annet Artani won the final with the song "Why Angels Cry" written by Petros Yiannaki.

At Eurovision

At the Eurovision semi-final, she came 15th in the semifinal with 57 points, and therefore failed to reach the final.
