Cymbal Corporation was a California–based IT services company that was acquired by Patni Computer Systems in 2004. The company was headquartered in Fremont, California, with delivery centers in North America, the UK and India. Patni acquired Cymbal for $68 million.

History

Cymbal was co-founded by Amitabh Nagpal along with Neeraj Gupta. Neeraj Gupta, CEO of Cymbal Corporation, joined Patni as head of the Telecom Business unit.

Cymbal was a global services company providing consulting, Systems Integration, and outsourcing solutions to clients in key industry verticals worldwide.

Patni acquisition

In June 2004, Cymbal recorded $32 million of revenue. The company had names on its list such as Virgin Mobile, Hutchison Telecom and Comcast, which are telecom service providers that are among the largest in the world, apart from an employee and consultant base of over 500.

Patni Computer Systems acquired Cymbal Corporation with effect from November 3, 2004 for a sum of US$68 million.
