Contents
While a second season has not officially been announced by the streaming platform, it is largely assumed that Cursed will be back on our Netflix screens with a sophomore season soon.
Plot
The story of Cursed is based on the reimagination of Arthurian legend(s). The prime focus of the premise is Nimue, the protagonist, who will go on to become the ‘Lady of the Lake’. On a quest to find Merlin and give him an ancient sword, Nimue finds an unexpected companion in Merlin.
With the tragic death of her mother, and her rebellion against King Uther, who is in arms with the frightening Red Paladins, she emerges as a symbol of courage and resilience.
Review

Expensively shot and ten episodes long, Cursed has a strong story at its foundation. With its source material so gripping, you naturally have lofty expectations from the show, especially if you are somebody who watches fantasy TV avidly. In some ways, the meaningly cycle of violence, and Katherine Langford’s performance as Nimue, do fulfil these expectations.
However, these are the only two strong points of the show. As for the rest, the show is badly written and the execution is not the best either, to the say the least. Most of the actors have mediocre performances. All in all, Cursed fails to rise to the challenge of the story it chose to told.
