Raghav Murali announced the film officially in May 2016 at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the same time, Rahsaan Noor's casting was announced. In August 2016, it was announced that Tarini Pal, Aref Syed, and Vritika Ramnani were cast in lead roles.
