Players can solve multiple pre-packaged crossword puzzles. Players can also use SpotPass to receive free additional puzzles. Additional modes are anagrams, word searches, and word of the day.
Reception
Crossword Plus received mixed reviews by critics. Nintendo Life rated the game a 6/10. Modojo and Nintendo World Report both gave the game an 8/10.
