Critical Links was co-founded by Joao Carreira and began operations in 2006. In 2009, it developed an educational technology offering through the efforts of Abdul Kasim.
Its flagship product is C3: Classroom Content Cloud, which provides educational technology content distribution and other features. Critical Links also provides the edgeBOX, that was developed for small and medium enterprises.
