Cratoxylum cochinchinense is a plant in the family Hypericaceae. The specific epithet cochinchinense is from the Latin meaning "of Cochinchina".

Description

Cratoxylum cochinchinense grows as a shrub or tree measuring up to 30 metres (100 ft) tall with a diameter of up to 65 centimetres (26 in). The brown bark is smooth to flaky. The flowers are crimson. The fruits measure up to 1.2 cm (0.5 in) long. The trees are cut for derum timber.
Distribution and habitat

Cratoxylum cochinchinense grows naturally from southern China to Borneo. Its habitat is forests, including kerangas forests and peat swamps.
