Craig Harrington is an English football manager. December 2013 he was the Technical Director and Head Coach of the Turks and Caicos national football team. As of January 2016, he is no longer the Technical Director of the TCIFA.

Early life

Harrington was raised in Carterton, Oxfordshire. He is of English descent. His mother, Lorraine, is a florist, and his father, Neil Harington, is a Marketing Director in the UAE. Harrington is the oldest of two children. His younger sister Lisa-Marie was born in 1985. As a child, Harrington had his first football experience by playing for Carterton Town FC under coach Dave Dodds. At Cokethorpe School in Whitney Oxfordshire, Harrington played up two years in the schools football team and represented the school at Rugby and Cricket. In his senior year, Harrington was offered the role as Head of School and had by this time represented Oxford United FC school of excellence and Swindon Town FC Academy. This was his first involvement with professional football.

Career

Harrington was put in charge of the national team ahead of the 2014 Caribbean Cup qualification campaign.

As Turks and Caicos Islands Technical Director, Harrington oversee's the long-term strategies for development of both coaches and players at the all levels in the Country. Striving to improve the National Team program, making sure that they have a connected program as the philosophies implemented with the senior team are being shared across all the youth teams. In May 2014 Harrington led the TCI Men's National Football Team to international success by rising the National team FIFA world ranking by 27 spots in less than 5 months in charge. Taking his first FIFA National Team to their highest ever place in the FIFA rankings.

Craig Harrington spent 3 years at the LA Galaxy Academy where he assisted LA Galaxy President Chris Klein in the development and growth of all the Galaxy Academy programs. Oversaw the selection and development of all the players aged 12 to 18. Responsible in writing the clubs first curriculum signed off by the Head Coach and GM Bruce Arena. Concentrating on creating more organized, age appropriate training sessions, developing coaching practices and creating an environment that is fun for the players. He helped grow the Academy into the No1 ranked professional Academy in the country.

Craig Harrington was featured in Yahoo Sports Soccer Backpack before the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup "Worst team in FIFA" lives in paradise and their story isn't one of failure presented by Martin Rodgers.

Harrington took charge of AFC Academy in December 2013 and lead them to their first Championship winning the Digital Provo Premier League at the first attempt after the club finished 8th the season before. In his second season at the helm the club won the league by a margin of 15 points winning back to back league championships.
