Swansea ramblers walk craig cefn parc and mynydd gelliwastad


Craig Cefn Parc (or Craigcefnparc) is a village near the town of Clydach, south Wales. It falls within the Mawr ward of Swansea. The name means "park ridge rock". Cwm Clydach RSPB nature reserve is located at the south of the village, near the New Inn, at the boundary between Craig Cefn Parc and Clydach. The village has a Post Office & village store, Rock & Fountain Inn pub & a village hall. CCP also has an English medium primary school.

Craig Cefn Parc has recently been included in the Local Development Plan and as such, several areas have been identified as suitable for small scale development. Craig Cefn Parc is famous for its mining history. In the heart of the Lower Clydsch River (Cwm Clydach nature reserve) are some of the old coal houses, there is also a coal tram located in the centre of the village to commemorate the mining history of the vullage, there is also a time capsule placed inside by the Craig primary school.
