Tampa attractions at the florida state fair cracker country

Cracker Country, a rural Florida living history museum, was established in 1978 by Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Carlton, Jr. so future generations might better understand and appreciate Florida's rural heritage. From the rustic cypress log corn crib to the grand old two-story Carlton house, Cracker Country features thirteen original buildings dating from 1870 to 1912 but actually takes place in 1898. These buildings were moved to their present location from through out the state like the train station is from okahumpka and the two-story Carlton house is from wauchula, then restored and furnished with antiques of the period.
