Crassphage

CrAssphage is a bacteriophage commonly found in human fecal samples. The circular viral genome is around 97 kbp in size and contains 80 predicted open reading frames. The virus is predicted to infect bacteria of the genus Bacteroides. It is claimed to be present in about half of the human population. The virus was named after the crAss (cross-assembly) software used to find the viral genome.
