History

Cox Green School was founded in 1967, and in 1973 was part of a reorganisation of education in Maidenhead. Cox Green School is a 11-18 comprehensive. The school became an academy on 1 December 2012. This means they work collaboratively and share resources to improve the education available in the town. This includes a shared sixth form option block. Sixth Form representatives, represent the student body with the role of Head Boy, Girl and their deputies. The school has three houses, Astor, Brunel and Spencer.The house colours are blue, red, yellow respectively. Previously the school houses were known as Windsor, Stuart and Tudor.

The school currently holds Sportsmark, and Balletmark Silver.

Location

Cox Green is a parish in its own right to the south-west of Maidenhead. The area is residential with several green spaces. Pupils come from the two primary schools in Cox Green, called Lowbrook school and Wessex school very near to Cox Green School. It is also popular from the neighbouring area of Woodlands Park from various hamlets round about and in increasing numbers from primary schools in Maidenhead itself and Berkshire.
