Country Thunder has been known to attract people from all over North America, with many visitors from other parts of the world. In 2015 each U.S. festival attracted between 80,000–125,000 people throughout the four days.

Each festival offers entertainment on multiple stages. In the past, the festivals have hosted well-known artists like Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Eric Church.

Along with the live music stages, Country Thunder offers Electric Thunder, a late night electronic DJ'd dance party under a real circus tent. In 2015, themed parties were introduced each night including a throwback beach bash, neon rage, and a foam disco.

All ages are welcome to attend, but overall the average age of the attendants range from 22–32. Fans can join a fan club entitled CT Nation where they can share information and receive information early.
