Counterpart is an upcoming American sci-fi thriller television series created by Justin Marks, ordered to series by the premium cable network Starz. The first two episodes will be directed by Morten Tyldum.

Premise

An espionage, sci-fi thriller with a metaphysical twist, Counterpart tells the story of Howard Silk (Simmons), a lowly cog in a bureaucratic UN agency who is turning the last corner of a life filled with regret, when he discovers the agency he works for is guarding a secret: a crossing to a parallel dimension. Through Howard and his “counterpart” on the other side, Prime, the show will navigate themes of identity, idealism, what ifs, and lost love.

Sarah Bolger as Anna, a mysterious young woman whose appearance on the “other side” threatens to disrupt the tenuous truce between Howard and his counterpart

Tina Masafret as Talia, a friendly nurse with real affection for Howard, who visits his comatose wife in the hospital on a daily basis.
