County Day School (CDS) is a school in Escazú, Costa Rica.

Foundation

The school was founded in 1963 by Marian Baker in order to provide an American college preparatory education in Costa Rica. It started off as a small school, and has since grown into a large school enrolling more than 1000 students. CDS is a member of the Association of American Schools in Central America (AASCA).

Escazú Campus

Country Day Escazú is a private K-12, English-speaking school located in Escazú, an affluent westerly suburb of San José, Costa Rica. Country Day Escazú is recognized as having one of the highest college acceptance rates in the country, with most students attending schools in the United States.

Guanacaste Campus

Country Day Guanacaste was opened in 2004 following the success of the Escazu campus; it is now a leading international boarding school in Central America, the co-ed years 8-12 Boarding School is the only kind of its class in Costa Rica. The School has a covered gym, pool, athletic field, staff housing, 20-room boarding residence hall and classrooms for regular and specialty classes, and the school also runs a day school for students who are not boarders.
