Corrin started the global digital education company, IDEA Digital Education in 2014. As the Company's current CEO, he has spoken at conferences and events around the world about the importance of providing high quality digital resources to young people particularly in emerging communities.

Corrin has finished two masters (Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi/University of New South Wales and the London School of Economics) with First Class Honours and a PhD at the London School of Economics. In June 2017, Varady's first book was published with Palgrave Macmillan titled 'Vigorous Self Defense' strongly challenging the use of Western military force in peacekeeping in the Middle East. He has also written for the Huffington Post, USA.

World Youth Education Trust

Corrin Varady Star alumni celebrated UNSW Newsroom

Corrin first founded the World Youth Education Trust (WYET), registered in the United Kingdom, Tanzania and Australia to support the education of students across East Africa and reintegrate former child soldiers back into their communities. Corrin established one of the first trauma counselling centres for former child soldiers in the Otuke District, a boarding house for over 200 students, as well as providing hundreds of sponsorships for students across East Africa. He also established a football team, trained by a former professional football player, for female former child soldiers. This girls' team was entered into a national competition - playing against boys - in which they came third. After this, The International Football Federation and the Ugandan Football Federation asked Corrin to start the WYET Football League for vulnerable girls across the district and region. Corrin is currently working with director Max Pugh on bringing these events to the screen. WYET is also building a digital Centre of Excellence in Numeracy and Literacy for Maasai students in Northern Tanzania which will be launched in September 2017.

Previously, Corrin produced the international feature documentary, "The Road to Freedom Peak", a journey between himself and a former child soldier as they ride their bicycles across three countries in East Africa. The film was directed by filmmaker Max Pugh and was received with critical acclaim. The documentary is currently airing on Netflix globally.

IDEA Digital Education

Corrin established IDEA to create and deliver STEM fields digital education content to primary and secondary students across Africa and the Middle East. The Company currently has 122 team members across 6 countries and the IDEA suite of products launched in 2017 with over 500 curriculum topics for students in South and East Africa. The IDEA team continues to create self-paced, personalised, interactive digital content for teachers and students. The content is being written and developed by a team of international educators and teachers, focussing on bringing technology and STEM programs to emerging communities. In 2017, IDEA launched its AR 500 program to bring Augmented Reality experiments to the IDEA students and in October 2017 will initiate IDEA AI to bring personalised, Artificial Intelligence to the hands of African students.

IDEA Digital Education in partnership with the South African Council of Education, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) and Training Room Online has begun rolling out a transformative digital education program. On the 24 July 2017, teacher professional development and student STEM education is set to undergo a radical changeover powered by IDEA’s revolutionary, locally produced digital content. Together with the DBE Cloud, the WCED and Training Room Online, IDEA will power up digital programs for teachers and STEM content for students in both urban and rural areas in the Western Cape and Kwazulu Natal. Corrin has also established a partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute for this roll out.

Awards and Honours

Corrin has held a number of ambassadorships for both government and university institutions including being an Australia Day Ambassador and ambassador for the Australian Graduate School of Management, UNSW. In 2015 he was name Young Alumni of the Year at UNSW. He was also named Educator of the Month by Kids Discover in USA.

Personal

Corrin has also modelled for international fashion publications. Corrin currently lives between Johannesburg and the East African region.
