Corinbank festival 2008

The Corinbank Festival is a music festival held in Canberra in Australia. Between 2008 and 2010 the festival was held on the last weekend of February. However, due to record rainfall flooding the festival site the night before the 2012 festival, it had to be postponed until the first weekend in December. The festival takes place over 3 days with music, theatre, art, burlesque, creative campsites, hiking and other family friendly activities and workshops.

2012 Flood

Over a period of five days leading up to the 2012 festival, over 200mm of rain (half of which fell in the 24 hours before the opening) fell onto the festival site, flooding all the low-lying areas. With weather not looking to improve and after consultation with Territory and Municipal Services Incident Management Team and Roads ACT, the organisers were faced with the tough decision to postpone the festival until later in the year.
