Corey Syvret (born February 19, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Syvret was selected by the Florida Panthers in the 6th round (181st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing career

Syvret was selected 20th overall in the 2005 OHL Priority Selection by the London Knights and played with the Knights for parts of 2 seasons. On January 10, 2007 the London Knights traded Syvret to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Trevor Solomon, a 4th round pick in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection and a 3rd round pick in the 2008 OHL priority selection.

At the 2007 NHL Entry Draft Syvret was selected in the 6th round (181st overall) by the Florida Panthers which paved the way for him to make his professional debut in the American Hockey League with the Rochester Americans (the Panthers AHL affiliate at the time) during the 2009–10 season.

For the 2010-11 season Syvret signed a tryout contract with the New York Islanders of the NHL but was released and assigned to tryout with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. Syvret attending the Sound Tigers camp but was assigned to the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL for the season.

For the 2011-12 season Syvret signed a tryout contract with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL and was signed out of training camp. In February 2012 he was loaned to the Portland Pirates of the AHL for 3 games.

On March 30, 2013, the Toronto Marlies signed Syvret to an American Hockey League contract. He skated in 11 games with the Marlies, but also played 32 games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL during the 2012–13 season. On October 4, 2013, Syvret signed on to continue to play with Alaska for the 2013–14 season.

After three seasons with the Aces on September 30, 2015, Syvret was traded to the Florida Everblades in exchange for Gleason Fournier to begin the 2015–16 season.
