History
The community of Copperfield was launched in 2002 by Hopewell Residential Communities. Since that time the Copperfield community has grown to include approximately 4000 homes, including 2800 single family homes upon completion in 2006 over a 4-year period.

In the City of Calgary's 2012 municipal census, Copperfield had a population of 7003783400000000000♠7,834 living in 7003304300000000000♠3,043 dwellings, a 9.4% increase from its 2011 population of 7003716200000000000♠7,162. With a land area of 4.4 km2 (1.7 sq mi), it had a population density of 1,780/km2 (4,610/sq mi) in 2012.
