Coat of Arms of Semersooq

The coat of arms of Semersooq is the municipal logo and only symbol of Sermersooq, a Municipality of Greenland. The coat of arms were adopted in 2008, a year before Semersooq became a subdivision of Greenland.

Symbolism

The rock stack represents a historical way of marking the roads in Greenland and also Nunavut (a territory of Canada). The white line the rocks are standing on is an ice sheet, which Greenland is mostly covered by, and the blue represents the water beneath it.

Similar coat of arms

A similar coat of arms is the coat of arms of Nunavut, a territory of Canada, which also represents the rock stacks for the same reason.
