Currently, CoServ Electric is the second largest cooperative in the state of Texas, serves more than 181,000 meters across six counties, making them the 9th largest cooperative in the nation, including Denton, Collin, Tarrant, Wise, Cooke and Grayson. CoServ Electric's affiliate, CoServ Gas, provides natural gas service to more than 87,000 meters in the same general service areas. CoServ is a member of Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, a generation and transmission electric cooperative.

During the late 1990s, CoServ also engaged in other businesses, such as home security and telephone service, but after a reorganization of assets in 2002, the company returned to its roots of providing electric and gas services only.
